TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Leicester LE18, supporting recruitment for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The setting focuses on pupil development and progress across academic, emotional, social and behavioural skills. The role is short-term with potential for a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The successful candidate will bring a new dimension and skill set, be keen to develop their skills to meet individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school.

You will work with and support children and service users with a variety of needs and complexities.

Responsibilities
  • Support children with diverse needs and complexities in line with individual educational plans
  • Adapt approaches to meet students’ emotional, social and behavioural development
  • Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups as required
  • Maintain a calm, patient, caring and supportive approach
  • Assist with personal care where appropriate
  • Adhere to child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Qualifications
  • Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child and Adult DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references.
