Role Overview
The college is looking for a determined SEND Teaching Assistant/TA with the potential of a permanent position. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant/TA will be confident and adaptable in working with all age students helping them to meet their milestones and giving them 1 to 1 support. The applicant would also have to be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and work closely with Teachers to support the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEMH, ASD and challenging behaviours in the classroom.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to meet individual learning milestones.
- Assist teachers with classroom management and daily routines.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create effective learning plans.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Child and Adult DBS (required) or willingness to apply.
- Experience working with SEMH, ASD, and challenging behaviour students.
- Calm, patient, and caring personality.
- Good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines.
- Experience supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
