We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support young adults aged 18‑25 with severe learning disabilities and physical needs in a specialist SEND college in Birmingham. The successful candidate will support students in the classroom and during community-based activities, working closely with teaching staff to meet individual learning, personal care and mobility needs while maintaining a safe, positive and engaging environment.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting children or young adults with severe learning disabilities (SLD) and physical needs
- A caring, patient and positive approach to supporting students with additional needs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Child and Adult Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
- Genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
