TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school based in Newark, supporting secondary-aged students with a variety of additional needs, predominantly Autism / ASD. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment focused on helping students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.
The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students and staff to provide individual and group support, helping students with a variety of SEND to access learning, manage their individual needs and make positive progress.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Experience supporting students with Autism / ASD
- Confidence supporting secondary-aged students
- A patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A flexible and adaptable attitude
