SEND & SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
TeacherActive is proud to work with a range of supportive schools and specialist provisions looking to recruit experienced and dedicated SEND & SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistants for full‑time roles.
Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.
- Support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
- Help create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Promote emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour strategies.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills.
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
- Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through TeacherActive).
