TeacherActive is proud to be working with a dedicated school in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a SEND Learning Coach to join their Inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive environment that values inclusion, academic excellence and character development, ensuring every pupil is given the opportunity to flourish.
The school is looking to take on a SEND Learning Coach on a long-term basis from September, with the potential to become permanent for the right SEND Learning Coach. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, staff and families to identify barriers to learning, coordinate SEND provision and support pupils with Communication and Interaction needs, including Autism. Responsibilities will also include developing interventions, delivering coaching and CPD, supporting EHCP reviews and line managing a small team of Teaching Support Assistants.
The successful SEND Learning Coach will have:
- Experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, particularly Communication and Interaction needs and Autism
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and learning practices
- Experience developing and implementing interventions and support strategies
- Experience coaching or supporting colleagues to develop their practice
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- A positive, committed and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
