TeacherActive is proud to partner with a fantastic Alternative provision based in Swindon. The setting follows a varied curriculum to suit the needs of the young people. Underpinning this, is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assist children develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. Role
The school is looking for SEND 1:1 Tutor on a full-time basis. Youll work with pupils on a 1:1 basis in their homes (with a parent/carer always present) or in community spaces such as libraries or children s centres. Every learner is unique, so you ll need to tailor your sessions and build strong, trusting relationships to foster a positive and engaging learning environment. The successful SEND 1:1 Tutor will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 5 19 years. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or attention deficit disorder / ADD.
Responsibilities and Requirements
The successful SEND teacher will have:
- QTS ideally, or have experience delivering 1:1 tuition
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or attention deficit disorder / ADD
- Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
