When working with children with special educational needs you need to be patient, highly understanding and extremely caring towards the students to give them the best possible educational journey, as every student deserves.
We offer full time and part time roles.
We offer day to day work, short term roles and long term roles.
As a SEND Teaching assistant these are some of the special educational needs you may come across in the schools we work with –
- ASD (Autism)
- ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
- MLD (Mild learning difficulties)
- SLD (Severe learning difficulties)
- SEMH (Social, emotional mental health)
To be a successful SEND teaching assistant, you will need
- To have sensitivity and understanding
- To be patient and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- To have active listening skills
- To be able to look after children\’s physical, social and emotional welfare.
- To be flexible and open to change
- To have excellent verbal communication skills
- To be able to adapt teaching support according to student\’s needs.
Other essential requirements include:
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage but we can apply for one for you if needed.
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
- Professional reference checks.
- CV must cover the last 5 years of employment history where possible.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
