TeacherActive are proud to be working with a specialist school in Bolton that supports students with a wide range of complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and medical needs. We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students with PMLD, SLD and complex medical needs
- Assisting with personal care, communication support and sensory-based learning activities
- Working closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to deliver individualised learning plans
- Using specialist resources and approaches (e.g., PECs, Makaton, sensory integration)
- Promoting independence, confidence and emotional well-being in every interaction
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 6 months experience working in a UK school setting
- Strong background supporting students with PMLD and SLD
- Confidence in assisting with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided)
- A caring, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
- The ability to build strong, positive relationships with both students and staff
