Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience and patience to help students overcome barriers to learning? Can you build positive relationships and create a safe, engaging learning environment?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive Alternative Provision in Worcester that is committed to helping young people re-engage with education. The setting has a small, dedicated team who are passionate about creating a positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their potential.

The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis for a minimum of two months, starting in September. The successful Teaching Assistant will support students aged 11 to 16 with SEMH needs, working closely with experienced teaching staff to manage challenging behaviour, build positive relationships and help pupils overcome barriers to learning through a calm and consistent approach.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional needs
  • Previous experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU or similar educational setting is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient and positive attitude
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently and consistently
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential, but relevant experience is highly valued
