TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 Pupil Referral Unit in Runcorn, providing education for pupils who have been permanently excluded or who require support outside of a mainstream school environment. The setting promotes a safe and supportive environment built around respect, personalised learning and helping pupils develop the confidence, independence and skills required for their next steps.
The school is looking to take on a passionate SEMH Teacher from September on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position for the right SEMH Teacher. The successful SEMH Teacher will be expected to confidently teach across the curriculum and adapt lessons to meet individual needs, while a subject specialism and the ability to lead a subject area would be highly desirable.
The successful SEMH Teacher will have:
- QTS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs
- The ability to confidently teach across the curriculum at KS3 and KS4
- A subject specialism with the ability to lead a subject area is desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
