Are you an experienced Caretaker looking for your next opportunity in a Primary school? Do you take pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming school environments? Are you reliable, proactive and able to carry out a range of site and grounds duties?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a friendly and welcoming Primary school in Seaton Delaval that has a strong community ethos. The school is committed to providing a safe and engaging learning environment and is looking to appoint a dedicated Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of the site.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Caretaker on a fixed-term contract for approximately 6 weeks, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right Caretaker.

The successful Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the school site and grounds, carrying out general maintenance duties and helping to ensure the school remains a safe and secure environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The successful Caretaker will have:

  • Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Supervisor or Facilities role
  • Experience maintaining school sites or similar premises
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance, health and safety and site security
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work
  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
