A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Salford is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil in Year 5 who has a diagnosis of Autism. The role requires a calm and confident individual who can build strong, trusting relationships and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 5 with Autism.
- Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day.
- Implementing individualised strategies to support learning and behaviour.
- Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism in a school setting.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to working with children with additional needs.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and SEND best practices.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
