Salary: £140 - £220 per day

Are you a qualified Teacher with the resilience and confidence to support pupils who have experienced challenges in mainstream education? Can you deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum while adapting your teaching to meet individual learning and SEMH needs? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 Pupil Referral Unit in Runcorn, providing education for pupils who have been permanently excluded or who require support outside of a mainstream school environment. The setting promotes a safe and supportive environment built around respect, personalised learning and helping pupils develop the confidence, independence and skills required for their next steps.

The school is looking to take on a passionate SEMH Teacher from September on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position for the right SEMH Teacher. The successful SEMH Teacher will be expected to confidently teach across the curriculum and adapt lessons to meet individual needs, while a subject specialism and the ability to lead a subject area would be highly desirable.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:

  • QTS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs
  • The ability to confidently teach across the curriculum at KS3 and KS4
  • A subject specialism with the ability to lead a subject area is desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
