TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in the Mansfield area, supporting with their recruitment for an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant. This setting provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students who may struggle within mainstream education, focusing on building confidence, engagement and positive relationships to help young people achieve their potential.
The provision is looking to take on a full-time Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis with an immediate start. The successful Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant will be supporting students on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and support students with their social and emotional development throughout the school day.
The successful Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant will have:
- Relevant experience working with children or young people within education, care or support settings
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals
