TeacherActive is currently recruiting experienced Secondary PRU Teachers to work within Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and alternative education settings across Pembrokeshire. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and those who require a more personalised approach to learning.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the secondary age range
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, and barriers to learning
- Manage challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with pastoral teams and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Encourage resilience, confidence, and positive outcomes for every learner
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching within a PRU, alternative provision, or specialist setting
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
