We are currently recruiting a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support school catering teams across the Porthcawl area starting in September. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation, presentation, and service of school meals while helping to maintain a safe and clean environment for pupils and staff. Please note this role will require a DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to get one.
What We’re Looking For:- Previous catering or kitchen experience preferred
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided if required)
- A positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene and Health & Safety standards
- Reliable and punctual approach to work
- Assisting with food preparation and presentation
- Serving meals to pupils and staff
- Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen and dining areas
- Supporting kitchen hygiene and Health & Safety procedures
- Receiving and storing deliveries and supplies
- Laying out dining tables and chairs
- Operating an electronic till
- Supporting the Catering Manager and Assistant Cook as required
- Consistent term-time working hours
- Supportive consultant team available throughout your placement
- Weekly pay via PAYE
