Do you have experience delivering phonics support to children across Key Stage 1 / KS1? Are you a confident Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant who can help pupils develop their early reading skills? Do you have a patient and engaging approach to supporting children with their learning?

The school is looking to take on a Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September, with the potential to become permanent for the right Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will work across Key Stage 1 / KS1, providing targeted phonics support and helping pupils develop their reading, decoding and communication skills.

The successful Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting phonics within a primary school setting
  • Experience working with children across Key Stage 1 / KS1
  • A strong understanding of phonics and early reading
  • The ability to provide engaging individual and small group support
  • A patient and positive approach to supporting children's learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
