TeacherActive is currently recruiting a Head of Mathematics to join a secondary school in Pembrokeshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking leader to take responsibility for the development and success of the Mathematics department.
The Role
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Inspire and support a team of Mathematics teachers
- Develop and implement an ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
- Monitor pupil progress, attainment, and achievement across the department
- Support colleagues with planning, assessment, and classroom practice
- Promote high expectations and a positive culture of learning
- Lead departmental improvement and contribute to whole-school priorities
- Teach Mathematics across the secondary age range
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
- Previous experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school
- Proven leadership or departmental responsibility experience
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and pupil progress
- Ability to motivate, support, and develop colleagues
- Ambitious, organised, and committed approach to education
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
