Job Title: Pastoral Behaviour Support
Start Date: ASAP (for the remainder of this term, with potential extension if successful)
Location: Derby

We are seeking confident and reliable individuals to join our team as Pastoral Behaviour Support Staff. This role is crucial in maintaining a calm, safe and purposeful environment across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the smooth running of the school day by managing corridors and communal areas.
  • Ensure students are in the right place at the right time, helping to reduce instances of internal truancy.
  • Supervise and support pupils who have been removed from class, maintaining a calm and consistent approach.
  • Build positive relationships with students while upholding clear expectations and boundaries.
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to reinforce the school’s behaviour standards.

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for individuals who bring presence, consistency, and authority to the role. You’ll need to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and manage challenging behaviour with fairness and professionalism.

This position may particularly suit those with backgrounds in the emergency services, armed forces, youth work, or similar roles, where strong interpersonal and situational management skills are essential.
