Are you an experienced school administrator looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity? TeacherActive is working in partnership with a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in North Birmingham to find a confident and capable Admin Assistant to join their team on a supply basis.
Position: Part-Time Admin Assistant (Front of House)
Location: North Birmingham
Pay: £13.69 per hour and upwards (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Part-time hours (to be confirmed with school)
The Role:
As the first point of contact at the school’s front desk, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. This is a dynamic, people-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, child-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcoming visitors, staff, parents, and pupils in a professional and friendly manner
Managing the school’s telephone system, emails, and reception inbox
Supporting attendance, admissions, and pupil data entry
Logging and monitoring safeguarding information appropriately
Handling deliveries and incoming/outgoing post
Liaising with teaching staff and SLT to support administrative needs
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience in a school office or education setting
Knowledge of common school systems such as:
SIMS (School Information Management System)
CPOMS (Child Protection Online Management System)
Arbor
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
SchoolComms / ParentPay / Weduc (or similar parent communication platforms)
A calm, confident telephone manner and excellent organisational skills
Ability to multitask and work independently
Two references: one recent employer & one character reference
A current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one
Right to work in the UK
