About the Nursery:

Our setting is a well-established, purpose-built nursery that provides a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 0–5 years. With spacious rooms, secure outdoor areas, and a dedicated team of early years professionals, the nursery promotes a child-led approach to learning, encouraging exploration, creativity, and development through play.

The Role – Nursery Room Lead:

As a Room Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of one of our age-specific rooms (Baby, Toddler, or Pre-School), ensuring high standards of care and early years education are consistently maintained. You will lead a small team of practitioners, supporting them with planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS framework. You’ll play a key role in building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the smooth daily running of the room
  • Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate activities
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are upheld
  • Mentor and support junior staff
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a nursery setting
  • Previous leadership experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
  • A genuine passion for early years education and care
