Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to make a lasting difference in young lives? We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and professional team at our well-established nursery in Chelmsford.

About the Role:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5. You will work as part of a team to create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment that encourages children's development in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's development across all areas of learning
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress and share this with parents/carers
  • Support children's emotional, physical, and social development
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the welfare of all children
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of nursery life
  • Work as part of a team to meet the needs of the setting and contribute to a positive working environment

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A warm, caring, and enthusiastic approach
  • A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Paediatric First Aid certification (desirable, but training can be provided)

Working Hours:

This is a full-time, permanent position. Exact working hours will be discussed during the interview but will be within standard nursery operating hours (typically between 7:30am – 6:00pm).
