We are working with a fantastic Alternative provision in Nottingham area to find an experienced, enthusiastic and naturally caring Learning support assistant to join them on a temp to perm, full time basis.

Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. A passion for working with pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding role.

To be a successful Learning support assistant, you will need:

  • To have previous experience working with children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
  • To have sensitivity and understanding.
  • To be patient and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • To have active listening skills.
  • To be able to look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.
  • To be flexible and open to change.
  • To have excellent verbal communication skills.
  • To be able to adapt teaching support according to students' needs.

Other essential requirements include:

  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage but we can apply for one for you if needed.
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
  • Professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the last 5 years of employment history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

This role is to start ASAP.
