Are you a sports professional or graduate with a strong interest in coaching and education? Do you have the ability to deliver both practical sport sessions and classroom-based theoretical content to FE learners? Can you inspire and engage students across Level 2 and Level 3 sport programmes to achieve their full potential?

The role is with TeacherActive in partnership with a specialist FE college in Northampton to recruit a Lecturer in Sport. This role is suited to candidates who are passionate about sport and committed to delivering high-quality education within a vocational setting. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that combine practical coaching sessions with theoretical delivery. The role also involves assessing learner progress, supporting academic development, and contributing to enrichment activities that enhance the student experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting learners to develop both their academic understanding and practical sporting ability, enabling progression into further study or employment within the sports sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver sport and fitness programmes across Level 2 and Level 3
  • Plan and lead practical coaching and classroom-based sessions
  • Assess student work and monitor progress towards targets
  • Support learners in achieving both academic and practical outcomes
  • Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities

Requirements

  • A degree in Sport or a related discipline
  • A teaching qualification is desirable or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience in coaching, teaching, or sports instruction
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support learners effectively
