TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newport to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant. The school is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment, ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

The school is looking to appoint a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant from September to support pupils within their PRU provision. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, promoting positive engagement, encouraging independence and helping them access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children with ALN within a school setting
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • A positive 'can-do' attitude
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
