TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming children's residential home in Newcastle, supporting young people aged 11 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Learning Disabilities (LD). The home provides a safe, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to develop independence, build confidence and reach their full potential through consistent, therapeutic support.

The home is looking to appoint a Children's Home Deputy Manager on a full-time, long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful Children's Home Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, lead and mentor the care team, ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, and promote outstanding outcomes for every young person in the service.

The successful Children's Home Deputy Manager will have:

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People or Residential Care (essential)
  • Previous experience working within a children's residential home in a senior or leadership role
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH and Learning Disabilities (LD)
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, children's legislation and Ofsted standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • A positive, resilient and child-centred approach
