We are seeking dedicated SEN Tutors/Mentors to deliver tailored learning programmes to children and young people, either one-to-one or in small groups. You will design and deliver bespoke education packages that support academic development, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. Sessions may take place in community settings, learners homes, or educational environments, and will be adapted to suit individual needs and circumstances. Your approach will be flexible, nurturing, and learner-focused, helping young people feel motivated, confident, and engaged. Key Responsibilities Deliver structured Maths and English tuition from KS1–KS3, with the opportunity to teach additional subjects aligned to your strengths Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that reflect learners interests and learning styles Provide mentoring support alongside academic tuition, helping learners build confidence, independence, and essential life skills Support young people in preparing for future pathways, including further education, employment, and adulthood Confidently work with learners with a range of SEND, including ASD/ASC, ADHD, and SEMH Follow agreed timetables and session plans to maintain routine, consistency, and stability for learners What We’re Looking For (Essential) A genuine commitment to re-engaging learners and supporting positive outcomes A reliable and professional approach, with the ability to commit to fixed-term schedules A patient, empathetic mindset and understanding of the complex challenges many learners face A minimum of two years experience working with children and young people with SEND (e.g. schools, alternative provision, youth work, or private tutoring) An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to statutory training Willingness and flexibility to travel to assigned locations How to Apply If you’d like to apply or have any questions, please contact: (phone number removed) (url removed) All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive.
