Overview
We are looking to take on a number of Tutors to begin work immediately. The successful Tutor with Rhondda Council will have the opportunity to work with Primary and Secondary aged pupils in settings across Rhondda, where staff are committed to providing the very best education and opportunities for all learners. The Local Authority is dedicated to creating a dynamic and inclusive community, whilst also promoting unique and relevant skills to prepare students for the next steps in their careers and development.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Tutor, who is ready to motivate and to maintain high-standards of learning. As a Tutor you will support learners with basic skills, study skills, well-being and pastoral issues. A strong level of Maths and Literacy is required as some pupils will be studying for their GCSE exams.
All students being tutored through this project will be on a 1-2-1 basis and additional training will be provided to support with accurate process when working in this environment.
Responsibilities
Our Tutors will have:
- QTS is required – essential requirement for the role
- Level 3 or Coaching qualification relating to Education (not essential)
- Experience working in a learning support capacity (skills, pastoral, and well-being – not essential)
- Strong classroom and behavioural management skills/experience with challenging behaviours
- Clear commitment to learner support and well-being with an inclusive, learner-centred focus
- Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to different groups of people e.g. young people, parents, external organisations, academic staff
- Driving license is essential
