TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Secondary School in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, supporting with their recruitment for a Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.
The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The successful Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.
The position will involve working with students across Year 7 - Year 11. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
The ideal TA / Teaching Assistant should have the following:
- Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
- A calm, patient and caring personal
- Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities & Challenging Behaviour
- Good communication skills
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child and Adult DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references.
