TeacherActive is currently looking to expand our pool of enthusiastic, reliable and committed Learning Support Assistants to work with our partner primary schools across Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
We work closely with a wide range of mainstream primary schools, with regular opportunities for LSAs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Opportunities can range from day-to-day flexible supply to short-term cover and longer-term placements, making this an ideal opportunity for experienced LSAs looking for flexibility or those wanting to build their experience within primary education.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you could be supporting pupils within the classroom, working on a 1:1 basis, supporting small groups or providing targeted interventions to help children access their learning.
You may support pupils with a range of needs, including SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and additional learning needs, depending on the requirements of the school.
A key part of the role will be building positive relationships with pupils, encouraging independence and engagement, and working closely with the class teacher to support children's learning and development.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Experience within a primary school, nursery, SEN setting or similar environment
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
- Flexibility and reliability
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
