TeacherActive is working with a well-known mainstream secondary school in the Mansfield area, Nottinghamshire. The school has high aspirations and offers fantastic support to all of its staff.
The school is looking to take on a Humanities teacher starting in February 2026 on a long-term, full-time cover for the whole 2026 calendar year. The successful applicant will be working across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs. This role will include Geography and History lessons.
ResponsibilitiesThe role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.
The successful Humanities Teacher will be:- A graduate with qualified teacher status.
- A qualified teacher in Humanities, with a strong teaching record.
- Relevant qualifications (both formal and through appropriate experience) to meet the challenge of the appointment.
- Excellent in-depth knowledge of the place of the Humanities curriculum in the development of young people and of the place within the wider curriculum.
- An understanding of the importance of a rigorous reading strategy to ensure students’ confidence and reading fluency.
