Are you a passionate Sports Coach looking to inspire and motivate young people? Do you have experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Maldon, Essex, to recruit a dedicated Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence, with a strong focus on wellbeing and positive outcomes.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. The successful Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will support students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, delivering engaging sports activities, promoting positive behaviour, and providing classroom support to help students access learning and achieve their full potential.

The successful Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a coaching, mentoring or educational setting
  • A recognised sports coaching qualification or relevant experience
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A positive, resilient and proactive approach
