TeacherActive is currently recruiting Lunchtime Supervisors to support welcoming and friendly primary schools in the Barnstaple area. This role is offered on a flexible supply / ad-hoc basis, making it ideal for individuals looking for part‑time work during school hours, with the potential to move into longer‑term opportunities in the future.

This role involves supervising pupils during lunch breaks and helping to maintain a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for children.

The Role:
  • Supervising children in the dining hall and playground during lunchtime
  • Supporting pupils with safe behaviour and encouraging positive play
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children during break times
  • Helping maintain a calm and organised lunchtime environment
  • Reporting any concerns to school staff where necessary
Shift Pattern:
  • 2–3 hour shifts during school lunchtime
  • Flexible supply work, depending on school needs
  • Opportunities to move into regular or longer‑term roles for the right candidates
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children (school, childcare, coaching, youth work or similar)
  • A friendly, patient and approachable manner
  • Good awareness of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • The ability to manage behaviour positively and encourage inclusive play
  • Reliability and a proactive attitude
