The school is committed to providing a supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and achieve their individual goals through tailored support.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with a range of additional needs throughout the school day.

You will deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, support pupils with personal care where required and use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.

A good understanding of adaptive teaching, pre-key stage assessment and the wider curriculum will be essential in helping pupils access learning successfully.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or a minimum of six months' recent experience supporting children with SEND.
  • A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils through 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Knowledge of behaviour support strategies, emotional regulation techniques and pre-key stage assessment.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with personal care where required.
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach with a genuine passion for helping every child succeed.
