Job Overview

Are you an experienced Religious Education and Philosophy Teacher looking for a new role this September? Do you set high expectations for your students, supporting them to meet their full potential, and challenging them to think critically? Are you able to confidently deliver the full RE and Philosophy curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5? We are currently seeking an experienced Religious Education Teacher to join a high achieving secondary school in West London. The successful applicant will also be teaching Philosophy at KS5, supporting the growth of the newly established sixth form. The Humanities Department at this school is strong and therefore RE ECTs are also welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • This school sets high expectations for both staff and students, promoting academic excellence across all subjects and maintaining good behaviour.
  • Extracurricular activities are highly encouraged, allowing staff and students to build a positive school community outside of lessons.
  • Teachers who understand the importance of challenging students to push themselves and practice a warm‑strict classroom management style will fit in well in this school.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and confident classroom presence.
  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Have experience teaching RE across KS3 and KS4, and the skills and knowledge needed to teach Philosophy at KS5.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, setting and maintaining high expectations.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing.
  • Hold UK Right to Work.
