TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive 1-form entry primary school in the Isle of Dogs, E14, for an experienced year 2 QTS Teacher / KS1 Phase Lead to join their team from September.

Location: Isle of Dogs, E14

Start Date: September

Salary: M6 UPS2 Inner London

Contract: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Leading teaching and learning across KS1, with a particular focus on Year 2
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and using effective behaviour management strategies
  • Working closely with SLT to drive standards across the phase
  • Supporting and mentoring staff within KS1
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement and leadership priorities

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
  • Previous senior leadership or phase leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and experience supporting children with SEMH needs
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach
  • The ability to commute reliably to E14, Isle of Dogs
  • A commitment to raising standards and supporting every child to succeed
