Are you a passionate and nurturing Teaching Assistant with a love for supporting children with additional needs? TeacherActive is excited to be working with a welcoming and inclusive 3-form entry primary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking to appoint a dedicated Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This vibrant school is committed to providing every child with the best possible start to their education. You'll be based within the Early Years setting, supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them develop socially, emotionally and academically in a safe and engaging learning environment.

The Role

  • Support children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Encourage communication, independence and confidence through play-based learning.
  • Help create an engaging, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Support children with personal care where required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working within Early Years or a primary school setting.
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism, speech and language needs or developmental delays.
  • Is patient, caring and passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can remain calm, positive and proactive in a busy classroom environment.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
