Are you passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming 2 form entry primary school in Bethnal Green, home to a large and well-established SEND provision. The school provides a positive, inclusive and passionate learning environment, with a strong focus on individuality. They are looking for a dedicated SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can build a trusting relationship with a pupil and help them thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
- Help remove barriers to learning
- Encourage independence, confidence and self-esteem
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team
- Support the wider SEND provision when required
- Celebrate the pupil's individuality, strengths and achievements
We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Someone who is resilient and confident managing challenging situations
- Strong relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
- Someone who understands that every child is different and deserves an individual approach
Previous 1:1, SEMH or SEND experience is highly desirable.
