TeacherActive is excited to be working with a welcoming and supportive school in Huyton, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEND & SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
The successful SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistant will:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- Be confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation
- Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Support pupils both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Work effectively alongside teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
- Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting pupil development
