Do you have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you confident managing challenging behaviour within a secondary school setting? Do you have the resilience, patience and adaptability to support students across Key Stage 4 (KS4)?

The setting provides a structured and supportive learning environment, focused on helping young people build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across KS4, working closely with teaching staff to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and provide tailored support to students with additional emotional and behavioural needs.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Experience supporting students within a secondary school or alternative provision setting
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude
