TeacherActive is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Level 2 Nursery Nurses / Early Years Practitioners to work on a flexible supply basis across a range of welcoming nurseries and primary school EYFS settings in Cradley Heath and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for Early Years professionals who are looking for flexibility and variety in their working week. Whether you are looking for regular work across five days, a few days each week, or supply work that fits around other commitments, TeacherActive can help find opportunities that suit your availability.

You will have the opportunity to work within a variety of supportive Early Years environments, helping young children to learn, develop and thrive while gaining valuable experience across different settings.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Level 2 Childcare/Early Years qualification or above. Alternatively, a relevant Level 2 qualification suitable for working within an Early Years setting.
  • Previous experience working with children within a nursery, EYFS or primary setting.
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient and positive approach to working with young children.
  • The confidence to adapt quickly to different nursery and school environments.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A reliable and professional approach to flexible supply work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children's learning and development through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • Providing a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for children.
  • Supporting children's personal, social, emotional and physical development.
  • Encouraging communication, independence and positive relationships.
  • Supporting Early Years staff with the delivery of activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Observing children and contributing to assessments where required by the setting.
  • Supporting children's individual needs and adapting your approach appropriately.
  • Assisting with personal care and daily routines where required.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety at all times.
  • Building positive professional relationships with children, staff and parents or carers.

As this is a supply role, you should be comfortable working across different nurseries and primary school EYFS settings and be able to adapt positively to each environment.

Compliance Requirements

Safeguarding children and young people is a priority. Applicants will be required to complete TeacherActive's registration and compliance process before commencing work.

You will need:

  • Two professional references from recent employers.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service. If you do not currently hold a suitable DBS, you must be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
  • Relevant qualification and identity documentation as part of the registration process.
