TeacherActive is working with a school within Derbyshire that require a learning support assistant/Teaching assistant who has completed British sign language Level 2 and above. To be successful in this role you will need: To have BSL Level 2 or above (or native BSL) A good level of written English Experience working in a school or with children or young adults with hearing impairments (Ideal not essential) To be patient and understanding To have an enhanced DBS on the update service (You can apply for one through us if you do not yet have one) To be supportive of each student. The school requires someone who is passionate about helping young students and is able to provide 1:1 and small group interventions to students who need additional support with signing and communication or other additional needs.
