TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist behavioural Primary school in East Cardiff to recruit a Teaching Assistant. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment with small class sizes, allowing pupils to receive the individual support they need to achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position directly with the school. The successful Teaching Assistant will support Primary-aged pupils with behavioural needs, working closely with teaching staff to promote engagement, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies. Team Teach training is desirable, however on-site Team Teach trainers are available to support and train successful applicants.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs, SEMH or challenging behaviours
- A passion for supporting Primary-aged pupils to achieve their full potential
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
- Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
- A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting pupils and staff
