Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? TeacherActive is working with a range of supportive primary, secondary and specialist SEND schools across Sheffield, and we're looking for caring, patient and enthusiastic Learner Support Assistants to join our team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Help pupils access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Support students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual support plans.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children or young people in an educational or care setting.
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A passion for supporting pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Relevant qualifications or SEND training are desirable but not essential.
