Are you confident supporting children within KS2 and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning? We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school, that are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant / Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026, so help build rapport with students in the school who need additional support both within the classroom, and also supporting some of them 1:1 in some quiet time outside the classroom, if they need time out to work in a more focused area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children who may require additional behavioural and emotional support throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For:- Confidence in managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a positive and professional manner
- The ability to support children who may arrive at school upset, anxious, or dysregulated
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach when helping children regulate their emotions
- The ability to think quickly on your feet and adapt to changing situations throughout the school day
- Strong relationship-building skills to help pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
- Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable
- A supportive and experienced staff team
