This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a setting where small class sizes, strong relationships and personalised learning are at the heart of everything they do. You will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to education, develop confidence and self-esteem, and achieve both academically and emotionally.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not essential for this role. However, applicants must have significant experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour, and be confident leading lessons and managing a classroom independently.

The Role:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
  • Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour positively.

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and pastoral staff to provide the best outcomes for every pupil.
  • Assess, monitor and celebrate pupil progress both academically and personally.
  • Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom where every child can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Extensive experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience leading lessons or teaching classes independently.
  • QTS is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, resilient and empathetic approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children to achieve their full potential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

In Return, TeacherActive Offers:

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
  • Access to free CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible payment options.
  • The opportunity to secure a long-term or permanent role within a rewarding specialist setting.
