Are you a confident Cover Supervisor with experience managing challenging behaviour? Can you provide clear boundaries while building positive relationships with young people with SEMH needs? Are you assertive, resilient and able to maintain a calm classroom environment?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with an SEMH setting in Bolton, supporting young people across KS3. The setting provides education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs who may display very challenging behaviour.
The school is looking to take on a Cover Supervisor on a full-time, short-term basis from September to provide fixed-term maternity leave cover. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, deliver pre-planned work and confidently manage challenging behaviour while maintaining clear boundaries and a positive learning environment.
The successful Cover Supervisor will have:
- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEMH or SEND setting
- Experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
- A confident and assertive approach
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- A positive and adaptable attitude
