TeacherActive is proud to be working with Alternative Provisions in Leeds who are looking to appoint a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant. These settings provide supportive and inclusive environments for children and young people who require additional support to access education and develop their confidence and independence.
The provisions are looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for short-term and long-term opportunities, supporting pupils across all year groups with complex and additional needs. The successful Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will work alongside teaching and support staff to provide individualised classroom support, encourage engagement and help pupils access learning in a way that meets their needs.
The successful Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex or additional needs
- Experience working within an education, SEND or Alternative Provision setting
- Confidence providing individualised support to pupils
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to get stuck in
