Are you looking for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant role within a nurturing specialist school?
Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Wiltshire providing education for pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning, including SEMH, ADHD and Autism.
The school offers a nurturing, personalised approach, with pupils learning in small groups or one-to-one and accessing academic, vocational, outdoor and physical learning experiences designed to rebuild confidence, self-esteem and engagement with education.
The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis starting ASAP.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with their individual learning programmes, emotional and social development and behaviour, helping young people engage positively with education while using a calm, consistent and proactive approach.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, Autism or associated barriers to learning.
- Experience within a school, alternative provision, youth work or similar support setting is desirable.
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.
- Confidence supporting pupils in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, resilient, flexible and nurturing approach.
